Insights|U.S. scholar: The U.S. and China can find a way to coexist peacefully and productively
Douglas Paal, Distinguished Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, believed that U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s visit to China is a positive gesture. The U.S. and China are not on a collision course, but can find a way to coexist peacefully and productively.
He further pointed out that the most important thing now is to understand the other side better and dig deep into the interests of each other to see commonalities. And he also thinks that there's room for both countries to cooperate on the Belt and Road Initiative.
